The scopes for trekking in Bhutan are immense from a short walk to arduous treks. The very moment you step off the road to start your trek you will be totally delinked from your stressful sights and from the sounds of urban life. You will be enjoying the breath-taking views of snow-capped peaks, densely forested hillsides, and river valleys and the sound of birds and gushing streams flowing down the melting snows of the mighty Himalayan peak. Allow yourself an excellent opportunity to experience the real heart of Bhutan. With the adventurous hiking path, you will be meeting people from a remote village which will give you an insight into the rural culture of the kingdom. You will feel the joy in exploring the amazing places, as your journey takes you through remote and deep forests with scattered tinny settlements. You will also be seeing the beautiful high grazing land of the nomadic yak herders.
Day : 1 Arrive Paro International Airport
During the flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mount Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received and escorted to your hotel by our company representatives.
Day: 2 Paro – Sightseeing
Followed by breakfast you will be visiting Drugyel Dzong. Drugyel dzong was constructed by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1646 to commemorate his victory over marauding Tibetan armies. The fortress was destroyed in 1951, the reconstruction has already started giving an impressive and imposing sight.
This spot unfolds a magnificent vista of Mount Chomolhari, “Mountain of goddess” (Alt 7329 meters).
After the visit you will visiting a farmhouse to see the typical lifestyle of authentic Bhutanese family. You will be going to the hotel with dusk.

Day 3: Drive To Shana Zampa – (Trek To Soi-Jangothang 22km/7-8hours/ 770m Ascent/10m Descent)
The car will drop you at the road end at Drugyel Dzong where the trek begins. The trail follows the river gently uphill through narrowing valley and agricultural fields. The night’s camp is just beyond an army outpost.
Day 4: Soi Thangthangkha – Jangothang-19km/5-6hours/480m Ascend
Jangothang is at an elevation of 4040 meters above sea level. The trek starts up through the banks of the Pa Chu river. An army outpost is crossed along the way. The valley begins to widen as you walk further. The high mountain ridges and snow-capped peaks come into view. Yaks and yak herders’ winter homes become a regular feature of the landscape. The night camp is beneath a ruined fortress at the base of Mount Jhomolhari.
Day 5: Jangothang – Halt
On this day you will trek up to Tsophu leak and hike around the area. There are good short hiking trails in three directions. Chomolhari and the subsidiary mountain chains lay directly west, Jitchu Drake to the north and a number of unscaled peaks to the east. Overnight halt at camp.
Day 6: Jangothang to Soi-Thangthankka (Distance 19km/4-5 Hours)
Retracing a way back to Soi- Thangthangka. The scenic beauty of this area is just awesome as you will be following downstream through the deep forested trail and camp by the river-side. Overnight camp at (Junction to Chora)
Day 7: Trek from Soi-Jangothang to Shana,
After an early breakfast proceed for road head where our transport will be waiting to pick you up. Though walking through the drainage trail is rather tiring yet it is interesting to see the spectacular view of lush vegetation, creek and overhanging cliff above the valley. The entire day trek is following downstream retracing the same trail that you have passed on when going up to Base camp.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule and timing, you will be transferred to the airport to depart from Bhutan to onwards destination. Reporting time at the airport is 2 hours prior to flight departure hence all passengers are advised to report on time to avoid the inconvenience. Our staff shall wait until the time the plane takes off, in case of flight delay due to bad weather; you may contact our office to coordinate with our staff to extend the assistance.
